On May 12, I took a break from farm chores and hiked through the woods before the predicted rains began. Well, almost. I did get a little wet. Here are some of the wild things I saw:
| high flying geese |
| vetch |
| lots of Fringecups |
| Fringecup, Tellima grandiflora |
| Large-leaved Avens, Geum macrophyllum |
| Red Columbine, Aquilegia formosa |
| Bleeding Hearts, |
| Western Buttercup, Ranunculus occidentalis |
| Piggy-back Plant, Tolmiea menziesii |
| Artist's Conk, Ganoderma applanatum |
| Broad-leaved Bluebells, Mertensia platyphylla |
| Pacific Waterleaf, Hydrophyllum tenuipes |
| American Kestrel, male |
| American Kestrel, female, waiting for food delivery |
Nothing soothes my soul more than a walk on the wild side.
